MOSTAR, Oct 10 (Hina) - The Coalition for Unified and Democratic
Bosnia-Herzegovina won a majority of seats in the Mostar City
Council at municipal elections held in mid-September, the regional
office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe
(OSCE) said on Friday.
The Coalition, led by the Moslem-dominated Party of Democratic
Action (SDA), won 14 seats in the 24-seat City Council while the
leading Bosnian Croat party, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ),
gained 10 seats.
Of the 14 Coalition councillors, eight are Moslems, one is a
Croat while five are from the ranks of other ethnic groups. On the
other hand, of the 10 HDZ councillors, seven are Croats and three
are from other ethnic groups.
