ZADAR, Oct 2 (Hina) - In line with the Amnesty Law dated September
1996, the County court in Zadar absolved 1173 persons of Serb
nationality.
The persons had been reported or charged with having committed
the punishable act of armed rebellion against the sovereignty and
territorial integrity of Croatia.
After it had established that there were no elements of war
crimes in their cases, the court acted in line with the Amnesty Law.
According to the president of the County court in Zadar, Benko
Velcic, the court in Zadar still had to process an enormous number
of cases of about 10,000 persons of Serb nationality reported or
charged with armed rebellion.
