ZAGREB, 24 Sept (Hina) - The Croatian Assistant Agriculture and

Poland is one of the few countries with which Croatia has a
surplus in trade, which has been registering a constant increase
for the last three years. Considering the huge Polish market,
trade possibilities are even better especially in the export of
fish and fish products. The main obstacle to the greater export
of those products are Poland's high import customs tariffs (46%).
The signing of the free trade agreement, expected to happen
by the end of the year, could improve Croatia's export
possibilities.
The main Croatian product is the food additive 'Vegeta',
the export of which in the first six months of 1997 in the
agricultural and foods section amounted to US $16 million.
Croatia imports from Poland mostly dried vegetables, calves
and pigs for fattening.
