Businesspeople who met with secretary Ravbar wanted to know
when Croatia and Slovenia will sign a free trade agreement and
ease trade cooperation between the two states.
Foreign trade between the two states is decreasing - in the
first seven months of 1997 it was 10% lower than in the same
period last year.
Ravbar said she had agreed with the Croatian Economy
Minister Nenad Porges to start a new negotiation round in autumn
so that the free trade agreement could be signed by the end of
the year.
In that way, Slovenia and Croatia would remove the biggest
obstacle in mutual trade and start the new year without customs
obstacles.
