1,197 FLATS IN VUKOVAR TO BE RECONSTRUCTED BY END OF YEAR

VUKOVAR, Sept 16 (Hina) - The first tenants of a singles hotel under reconstruction in the Vukovar district of Borovo are to move in later this month, the chief engineer for the reconstruction of public purpose objects at the Croatian Reconstruction and Development Ministry, Melita Kosir, told reporters in Vukovar on Tuesday. The 132-room hotel will most probably provide temporary accommodation to displaced staff of local authorities and businessmen from the Croatian Danube region, so they can permanently reside in the area where they work, Kosir explained. The Reconstruction and Development Ministry was also reconstructing 1,197 flats worth 154 million kunas which, she said, should be completed by the end of the year. The Ministry signed agreements on the 41 million kunas- worth reconstruction of 10 of 22 objects in Vukovar with eight Croatian counties, Kosir said. (hina) ha 161747 MET sep 97
