VUKOVAR, Sept 2 (Hina) - Until the end of September displaced people
from the Croatian Danube river area should submit their requests for the
return, whereas the dislocated Serbs, now living in the area, should register
themselves and say whether they would like to come back to their homes in
other Croatian parts, a Croatian development and reconstruction deputy
minister, Ivan Krstanovic, who is in charge of the Danube area, said in
Vukovar.
On Tuesday in this eastern Croatian town he held talks with
representatives of the displaced people's association on the peaceful
reintegration and the return. A delegation of the displaced was led by the
association's head, Mato Simic.
Krstanovic informed them of the results of the registering of houses
and told them that about 30 percent of the registered houses were
undamaged, but mostly illegally occupied, about 50 percent of the listed
houses were rather damaged and about 20 percent of them were destroyed.
