JAJCE/DRVAR, Sept 13 (Hina) - Elections in Jajce, central Bosnia,
are proceeding peacefully, but there are long lines and numerous
protests by voters forwarded to the Temporary Electoral
Commission because of people being unable to vote. #L#
The Temporary Electoral Commission in Jajce had been
forwarded about 120 cases so far of voters who had been
registered abroad through embassies, but were not on the final
list of voters. A large number of voters left the polling
station, and had not even waited to report the omissions from the
list.
The HDZ municipal council in Jajce had forwarded a request
to OSCE officials to allow such voters to be put on the list and
enabled to vote.
The HDZ municipal council of Drvar, western Bosnia,
protested to the OSCE, pointing out that certain candidates of
the Drvar HDZ had been omitted from the list of candidates which
had been written in the Latin alphabet, which confused voters
because it was not clear whether it was maybe the "Coalition for
Drvar" which had been composed from parties from Republika
Srpska.
They also pointed out the polling station number three at
which voters from Republika Srpska cast their votes, but many had
been allowed to vote by showing documents without a photograph
and registration number.
Also, at the two other polling stations, around 130 voters
who had been registered to vote in Drvar and had been put on the
temporary list of voters, had been erased from the final list,
the statement said.
