ZAGREB, Aug 27 (Hina) - Four Croatian primary school students
left for Tunis on Wednesday where they will represent Croatia at
the international conference "Children and Sustainable
Development" organised in Tunis from 28 to 30 August by the
Tunisian Environment Protection Ministry with the support of the
UN.
Participating in the conference are children between 12 and
13 years of age, who are to convey their views on the future of
the Mediterranean.
The Croatian children were invited to the conference for
the first time.
According to their mentor, biology teacher Merica
Pletikosic, every student had prepared a paper on the given
subject and would present their thoughts, knowledge and wishes
for the future of the Mediterranean.
During the opening of the conference and in the promotion
part of the programme, the students will present the natural and
cultural riches and beauty of Croatia, wearing folk costumes of
their homeland, thus presenting the rich ethnographic heritage of
Croatia.
