SARAJEVO, Aug 15 (Hina) - The Office of the international High
Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina has drafted solutions to the
controversial provisions of Bosnian laws on citizenship and
travel documents, spokesman Duncan Bullivant said in Sarajevo on
Friday.
The solutions will be offered for discussion to the Council
of Ministers, which is to convene on Saturday.
Bullivant said that Deputy High Representative Gerd Wagner
would try to help solve the problem so that the laws could be
finally adopted.
The Council of Ministers has agreed to seek arbitration of
the Office of the High Representative because they could not find
a solution to the issue of granting citizenship and the design of
travel documents.
The controversial laws should have been adopted by the
beginning of August. According to a new deadline set at a meeting
in Sintra, Portugal, the Bosnian parties should agree the design
of a new national flag and coat of arms before the end of this
month.
A spokesman for the Moslem-led Party of Democratic Action
(SDA), Ismet Grbo, said on Thursday that two proposals for the
design of the flag were being considered: a red-green-blue or
green-red-blue flag and a monochrome flag with a neutral symbol.
