SPLIT, 6 Aug (Hina) - The Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and the President of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegovic, met for talks in Split on Wednesday. The talks are to focus on the improvement of political and
economic relations between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
SPLIT, 6 Aug (Hina) - The Croatian President Franjo Tudjman and
the President of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija
Izetbegovic, met for talks in Split on Wednesday.
The talks are to focus on the improvement of political and
economic relations between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina. #L#
Immediately upon their arrival in Villa 'Dalmacija', the
two presidents held one-on-one talks which lasted about half an
hour.
After the talks, the delegations of Croatia, Bosnia-
Herzegovina and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina started
their meeting.
The two delegations are led by Presidents Tudjman and
Izetbegovic.
The meeting, which had been postponed several times, will
tackle a whole set of political and economic topics which
concern relations between the two countries within the Dayton
agreement.
The two delegations are also to discuss concrete issues,
such as the use of Ploce port and trade between Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
It is expected that agreements on economic relations
between Croatia and the Federation would be signed after the
talks.
The talks will also be attended by the U.S. representative
for implementation of the Dayton agreement, Robert Gelbard, as
well as by the maker of the Dayton agreement, Richard Holbrooke.
The Croatian delegation includes Premier Zlatko Matesa,
Presidential Chief Of Staff Hrvoje Sarinic, Foreign Minister Mate
Granic, Deputy Defence Minister Lieutenant General Kresimir
Cosic, the President's special representative for the
Federation, Franjo Greguric, and the Croatian Ambassador to
Brussels, Janko Vranyczany-Dobrinovic.
The delegation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Federation
includes a Bosnian Presidency member, Kresimir Zubak, Council of
Minister's co-chairman Haris Silajdzic, Federation President
Vladimir Soljic, Federation Vice President Ejup Ganic and Trade
Minister Hasan Muratovic.
