The talks started this morning in Villa 'Dalmacija' with a
one-on-one meeting between Presidents Tudjman and Izetbegovic,
after which both delegations joined the talks.
Gelbard and Holbrooke arrived in Split shortly after noon.
They are to join the talks later.
The two delegations have so far agreed on an agreement on
property questions between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina,
sources close to the Croatian delegation said, adding that an
agreement on economic cooperation should also be defined.
So far, the two sides have agreed to form two councils for
cooperation - the council for cooperation between Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina and the council for cooperation between
Croatia and the Federation, sources close to the Croatian
delegation say.
According to these sources, the two delegations still have
different stands concerning the interpretation of the Washington
agreement in the case of Ploce port.
The two sides are expected to issue a joint statement after
the meeting.
