A lot has been done in the past three months in the
reconstruction of the villages, Radic said adding that
conditions for the return of some 10,000 displaced persons would
be created by the end of September.
Construction workers and residents of villages which are
being reconstructed have problems in entering their villages,
Radic said, adding that he would ask General Klein to make the
entry procedure less complicated.
The reconstruction of villages in the Danube river region
would be accelerated this year and it would continue during the
winter as much as weather conditions allowed it, he said.
Bilje municipal heads asked Radic to meet with UNTAES
officials and discuss with them the relocation of a U.N. check-
point outside of Bilje, so that entry procedure would be less
complicated.
Radic was accompanied by Presidential Deputy Chief Of Staff
Vesna Skare Ozbolt, the head of the Government Office for
Displaced Persons and Refugees, Lovre Pejkovic, and the director
of the Agency for Mediation in Real Estate Transactions, Ivica
Vrkic.
Radic is also to meet with the representatives of Osijek
and Vukovar counties' associations of displaced people.
