SARAJEVO, 29 July (Hina) - The President of the Bosnian Presidency Alija

all accusations concerning possible misuse of money intended for the

case they proved correct, those responsible for them would be punished.

"It is possible that there have been cases of misuse of that money but
I am sure that those cases were not serious," Izetbegovic told reporters after
his meeting with Cook in Sarajevo.
"If there are people and companies who misused the aid, they have
names, and those names will be made known," Izetbegovic said, stressing
that he had asked for Cook's assistance in solving the problem.
Izetbegovic said that he and Cook had also discussed the institutions
of the former Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which are disputable and
whose status should be solved. In that context, Izetbegovic stressed the
Agency for Investigation and Documentation (the secret service of the
former Interior Ministry).
Cook said he was glad that his warnings about the possible misuse of
money intended for the reconstruction of the country had been taken
seriously. The people in Bosnia have the right to know exactly how much
money the country is receiving and what that money is spent on, he said.
Cook told Izetbegovic that his government wanted the deadlines set
in the Dayton agreement to be respected, and stressed the importance of
establishing joint bodies of authority.
