TENJA, 26 July (Hina) - About 100 exiled residents of Tenja, near
Osijek, under U.N. administration, on Saturday visited their village for
the first time after six years and celebrated the day of St Ana. The
displaced attended a mass in front of the destroyed church of St Ana in
Tenja. The mass was conducted by the exiled parish priest Tomislav
Cvenic.
The day of St Ana was celebrated under strong control of UNTAES
military units and Transitional Police.
Immediately after the arrival of the displaced, UNTAES prohibited
any movement and the mass was delayed for more than half an hour.
Upon the arrival, the displaced were welcomed by General Jacques
Klein.
The displaced Tenja resident expressed satisfaction with the fact
that they were able to visit their homes after more than six years.
