BELGRADE, 2 July (Hina) - The Belgrade police arrested five persons who participated in incidents which happened two nights ago in Belgrade, following a basketball match between the Croatian and Yugoslav national teams in Spain, the
Secretariat of Interior Affairs in Belgrade stated Wednesday evening.

Adequate legal measures would be taken against the perpetrators,
the statement said. It further said that after a spontaneous meeting of
citizens who gathered on the Square of the Republic to celebrate the
victory of the Yugoslav team, a group separated from the crowd and
started causing incidents, breaking three windows on a bus, three
storewindows and two kiosks.
Some members of the group threw 'small objects' on the Croatian
Embassy building in Prince Milos Street. A window on a door on the
embassy's balcony was broken, the statement said, adding that the police
managed to prevent further violation of public order with additional
security measures.
