BELGRADE, July 1 (Hina) - Following Monday night's basketball match
between Croatia and Yugoslavia at the European Championship in
Barcelona, at about one hour after the midnight, around a thousand
people gathered in front of Croatian Embassy in the downtown Belgrade.
The crowed shouted insulting words for about an hour and half, threw
stones and broke several windows of the Embassy. There were traces of
bullets at the building. Police arrived at the spot half an hour after
the incident began, but were not efficient.
Croatian Consul Neven Vrankovic will deliver a protest note to
Yugoslav Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, due to last night's incident.
