INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY RESERVED ABOUT CONFLICT IN SERB LEADERSHIP

SARAJEVO, July 1 (Hina) - International representatives in Bosnia- Herzegovina have been reticent so far about the conflict among Bosnian Serb leaders, but the NATO-led Stabilisation Force (SFOR) troops have stepped up their patrols and are attentively watching what is going on. A spokesman for the High Representative's Office in Bosnia, Michael McLay, said on Tuesday that the office was following, with the concern, the developments in the Bosnian Serb entity. Michael Steiner, a Deputy High Representative, held talks with Momcilo Krajisnik on this matter on Monday, the spokesman added. International organisations do not comment in public on the situation neither side with anyone for the time being. They will try to find out how Biljana Plavsic, the president of the Republic of Srpska, was detained at Belgrade Airport and whether she was arrested. A U.S. special envoy to Bosnia, Robert Gelbard, who was in Sarajevo on Tuesday, portrayed the latest developments in the Serb entity as 'disagreement' between its authorities. He said that Ms. Plavsic as other legally-elected Bosnian Serb officials, enjoyed the support of international community, but added that all of them equally tried to shirk their duties under the Dayton accords.
