ZADAR, June 12 (Hina) - A Croatian Deputy Defence Minister, Lieutenant-
General Kresimir Cosic, and U.S. General Carl Vuono, delivered diplomas
to 50 Croatian Army officers for a completed seminar, at military
barracks of Sepurine near Zadar.
The three-day seminar called 'advanced Conduct of Training' was
organised by the Croatian Defence Ministry and led by U.S. experts of
the MPRI (Military Professional Resources Incorporation).
At the beginning of Thursday's ceremony, Gen. Cosic addressed the
participants and said that this seminar was one in the series of such
courses started two years before.
"In peace, training and drills are most important activities of the
Croatian Army, or otherwise the army loses readiness, discipline and
order. Not waiting for the entrance to the "Partnership for Peace"
programme, the Croatian Army is working according to its programmes that
are identical to the "Partnership for Peace" programme," Cosic stressed.
He announced that a simulation centre would be installed at
Sepurine barracks for next such seminar.
The seminar's leader, U.S. General Vuono, said that American
military experts would offer full support to the Croatian Army in its
effort to become modernised.
