ZAGREB, June 4 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Defence Minister Lt. Gen. Kresimir Cosic on Wednesday received UN Under-Secretary for peace operations Bernard Miyet, the Defence Ministry said in a statement.

Stressing the importance of the role Croatia had in the
establishment of peace and stability in the region, Miyet expressed
gratitude to the Defence Ministry for successful cooperation and support
the Croatian army had given to UN troops.
Cosic stressed Croatia's constant preference for a peaceful
solution to all current problems which hinder peace and stability,
pointing out the positive results of the process of peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area.
Acquainting Miyet with the development of Croatia's armed force,
Cosic stressed that the degree of training of the Croatian army was at
the level of west European armed forces, and expressed wish and
preparedness of Croatia's troops to participate in international peace
operations.
Cosic and Miyet agreed that high military delegations would define
technical frameworks of military cooperation.
