SARAJEVO, June 15 (Hina) - The election for Croatia's President was
organised and conducted very well (for Croatian citizens) on the
territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatian Ambassador in Sarajevo,
Darinko Bago said to the Hina on Sunday evening, after the closing of
polling stations.
Bago said that a very good turnout of Croatian citizens was
recorded at 19 polling stations in 10 Bosnian towns.
"At all places there was a festive atmosphere, and the voting
passed without any incident," he added.
"Several polling stations were packed, particularly in Mostar and
Novi Travnik, as expected," the Ambassador said and explained that this
was so because only a limited number of polling stations was agreed upon
with Bosnia's authorities and Sunday's events showed that a larger
number of polls should have been in Mostar and Novi Travnik.
"I hope that people are satisfied, despite such crowds, as they had
the occasion to exercise their constitutional right and choose their
President," he added.
According to first estimates available to the Croatian Embassy in
the Bosnian capital, about 40,000 voters went to the polls in Bosnia,
but final data will be known after the casts are counted, which is
likely to be on late Sunday evening.
