The meeting was attended by the Croatian Defence Council (HVO)
commanders from the Vitez and Tomislavgrad Officer Corps, Staff
Brigadier Ilija Nakic and Major General Dragan Curcic, the commanders of
the 5th and 3rd Bosnian army corps - General Atif Dudakovic and
Brigadier Kadir Jusic, the commander of the 1st Republika Srpska army
corps, Lieutenant General Momir Talic, and the commander of Republika
Srpska air force and anti-aircraft defence, Major General Milan Torbica.
The meeting was chaired by Major General Angus Ramsey, commander of
Sector South-West.
According to Michael Wright, spokesman for the Sector, the meeting
focused on the fulfilment of obligations from the military part of the
Dayton agreement and obligations taken over in earlier meetings of the
Commission. The Commission also paid special attention to the removal of
mines in former separation zones, logistic and expert support in the
mine-removal project and the implementation of a plan on the reduction
of military infrastructure on the whole territory of Bosnia and
Herzegovina.
We had a very constructive and fruitful meeting. We dedicated most
of our time to the problem of mine removal as one of the key issues in
freedom of movement and normalisation of life in former separation
zones, Sector commander Ramsey told reporters from both Bosnian entities
after the meeting.
