A statement, sent by the HRWG to news agencies, warned that the
Republika Srpska police did not allow the return of 21 Bosniac and Croat
families to Banja Luka, despite a ruling made by the court in Banja
Luka. The 21 families lived in the area of Banja Luka throughout the
war. In the period between 1993 and 1995, they were evicted from their
homes, into which Serb families moved later.
HRWG quoted the superintendent of a Banja Luka police station as
saying that acting upon instructions by senior police officials, the
police did not even try to carry out the court ruling.
