CROATIAN PRESIDENT CONTINUES RECEIVING LETTERS OF CONGRATULATIONS ON RE-ELECTION

ON RE-ELECTION ZAGREB, June 19 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman has received numerous messages of congratulations on his re-election as President of Croatia, the President's Office said in a statement on Thursday. Besides congratulations by phone from Turkish President Suleyman Demirel and Bosnian Presidency member Kresimir Zubak, President Tudjman also received letters of congratulations from President Jiang Zemin of China, head of the European government Jacques Santer, President Arnold Koller of Switzerland, President Levon Ter-Petrossian of Armenia, President Sali Berisha of Albania, President Abdou Diouf of Senegal, head of the UN Transitional Administration in the Croatian Danube region Jacques Paul Klein, President Algirda Brazauskas of Lithuania, European Parliament member Otto von Habsburg, Prime Minister Jordi Bujol of Catalonia, EU Monitor Mission chief Peer Winther, former EU Administrator of Mostar Ricardo Perez Casado and former US Ambassador to the Vatican Patrick Melady.
