ANKARA, June 6 (Hina) - The incumbent Croatian Ambassador in Ankara,
Ivica Tomic, received from Slovakian President Michal Kovac the medal of
the twofold white cross.
Tomic was awarded for the contribution he had given, being Croatian
Ambassador in Bratislava before the post in Ankara, to the versatile
development of political, cultural and other ties between his country
and Slovakia.
He was the first Croatian Ambassador in the Slovakian capital
from 1993 to 1996.
Slovakian Ambassador in Ankara Jan Lisuch delivered the medal
to Ambassador Tomic at a ceremony on Thursday night at Slovakian
Embassy.
On that occasion the same medal was delivered to the first
Turkish Ambassador to Slovakia Aydin Sahinbas.
