SARAJEVO, March 29 (Hina) - Speed bumps were removed from Mostar's Bulevar
road at noon on Saturday in accordance with a demand by the deputy to the
international High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Michael Steiner.
The Office of the High Representative in Sarajevo said in a statement
that Steiner had received a letter from Mostar Deputy Mayor Safet Orucevic
saying that the "sleeping policemen" had been removed.
The statement stressed that the Office of the High Representative was
very pleased that the demand had been fulfilled.
Besides the removal of speed bumps, Steiner had also demanded a
speedier establishment of a joint police force in the Hercegovina-Neretva
canton to ensure the safety of all people in Mostar regardless of their
nationality.
