THERMOELECTRIC POWER PLANT TO DEVELOP SMALL-SCALE BUSINESS

PLOMIN, Dec 16 (Hina) - "The Plomin 2 thermoelectric power plant will be set in operation by the end of next June, and the power supply of Istria is a part of Croatian Government's strategy with regards to the long-term development of the Istrian County," Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa said at Wednesday's signing of a letter of intention about the realisation of a programme of construction of small-scale business facilities and local infrastructure accompanying Plomin. Matesa stressed Croatian Government's strategy has been agreed on with the county's leadership, and its goal is a long-term and stable development of Istria. "It has been our intention since the very beginning, with Plomin, to develop Labinstina which is abandoning the mining industry and turning towards other resources," Matesa stressed. With the letter of intent, the Croatian electric power supply company (HEP) has committed to invest around DM100 million into Labinstina's business and infrastructure facilities. (hina) lml jn
