ZAGREB, Dec 10 (Hina) - Commenting on a decision by six Opposition parties ('the Opposition Six') for party whips to hold talks on all disputable issues with the majority Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), HDZ's Vladimir Seks said that this was actually a proposal put forward earlier by the HDZ. The Opposition Six have obviously accepted our suggestion, Seks told reporters on Thursday. The Opposition bloc last week cancelled their meeting with the Croatian President Franjo Tudjman because their request to have talks with Tudjman exclusively in his capacity as president of the HDZ and not President of the State, had not been accepted. The Opposition parties were to discuss the election law and their request on the establishment of a commission of inquiry to probe into the work of intelligence services. The Opposition bloc yesterday suggested that talks with the ruling HDZ be resumed on the level of party whips. Djurdja Adlesic, Croatian Social-Liberal Party (HSLS) whip in the Lower House, told reporters that the Opposition bloc's decision was not a step back, because it was the whips who had initiated the talks. The problem originated in the Sabor and that is where it should be resolved, she added. Following the HDZ's refusal of the Opposition proposal on the establishment of the commission of inquiries, representatives of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS), Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS), Liberal Party (LS) and the Croatian People's Party (HNS) resigned from all their parliamentary posts except those as Members of Parliament.
