Franjo Tudjman opening Monday's meeting of the party's National
Committee and HDZ MP's in the Croatian National Sabor.
Referring to current interior and international circumstances,
Tudjman emphasised that we are witnesses to the presumptuous and
infernal satonisation of Croatia and imposition of unacceptable
demands on the sovereign and democratic Croatian state.
Pressure on the Croatian Democratic Union aimed at deposing it from

Today's meeting will be addressed by high party officials; Zlatko
Matesa (who is also Prime Minister), Mate Granic (Foreign
Minister), Borislav Skegro (Finance Minister)and Marko Skreb
(Governor of Croatia's central bank), who will discuss
international economic circumstances and the economic and social
policies of the HDZ foreseen for 1999.
Relations between the HDZ and other parties and the work of the
Croatian National Sabor will be dealt with by Vlatko Pavletic
(parliamentary president), as well as Ivic Pasalic, Vladimir Seks
and Ivan Milas.
