ZAGREB, Dec 3 (Hina)- In a parliamentary debate on the state of +education, the MPs of the six Opposition parties in the House of +Representatives proposed a resolution on the Croatian educational +system. The resolution draft calls,
inter alia, for more funds for +the education in the 1999 budget, claiming that with 4-5 per cent of +the BDP for education, Croatia legs behind other transition +countries. In his opening speech Minister of Education and Sports +Bozidar Pugelnik stressed that the Government's draft of the 1999 +already envisaged selective increase of funds for education. In +1999 the education will receive 800 million kuna more than in the +1998, including 600 million kuna for the salaries and 200 million +kuna for equipment and maintenance.
