resigned their committee membership posts in the House of
Representatives in the Croatian National Sabor.
Jegovan Starek, Furio Radin and Sandor Jakab told a press
conference on Thursday that they had made their decision as an act
of solidarity for the six opposition leaders, and as an act of
dissatisfaction that no vital minority laws have been passed.
All three were members of the Human Rights and Minorities Rights;
the Judiciary; Education, Science and Culture committees. They
warned that some ethnic minority associations have still not
received promised grants.
Jakab announced that he had withdrawed from the Croatian Radio
Television (HRT) Supervisory Council due to his dissatisfaction
with "Prizma", an ethnic minority programme, and HRT's
incapability to broadcast a programme which minorities deserve.
All three minority MP's announced that their resignations are not
irrevocable, and that if their demands are met and a new situation
is created in the Sabor, that they are prepared to take part in the
Sabors work bodies.
