RIJEKA, Nov 30 (Hina) - The Party of Democratic Action of Croatia
(SDAH) in principle fully supports any agreement which will
contribute to good relations and cooperation between Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina, including the Agreement on Special Relations
between Croatia and the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, if it is
truly orientated to that aim.
However, we must express dissatisfaction with the fact that the
Agreement does not mention Bosnian Moslems in Croatia, chairman of
the SDAH Main Committee, Ibrahim Ruznic, said in the southern
Croatian town of Rijeka on Monday.
Bosnian Moslems in the Republic of Croatia can only be satisfied by
a solution to their position defined by the Constitution,
constitutional and electoral laws.
There are about 50,000 Bosnian Moslems in Croatia, and in any case
several times more than other national minorities that have
representatives in the Sabor (Croatian Parliament), Ruznic said.
He added that he had forwarded a letter to the president of the Party
of Democratic Action in Bosnia-Herzegovina and member of the
Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic, in which he
warns that "not mentioning of the Bosnian Moslems minority in the
Agreement on Special Relations caused in the Bosniak political
leadership in Croatia a feeling of losing foot-hold from their
ethnic homeland, and a feeling of a lack of motivation for further
political struggle for their rights".
Ruznic stressed he expected the incumbent SDAH president to
withdraw his resignation because, as he put it, he enjoyed great
support from members of the Bosniak minority in Croatia.
