SPLIT, Nov 30 (Hina) - About 7,500 displaced persons and refugees
temporarily accommodated in Dalmatia have returned to their homes,
head of the Office for Refugees and Displaced Persons in Split
(central Adriatic), Lena Elek, told Hina on Tuesday.
Another 4,500 displaced persons remain in central Dalmatia
awaiting return, she added.
Out of this number, 2,300 are refugees from Bosnia-Herzegovina and
2,200 displaced persons from Vukovar and other parts of the
Croatian Danube river region in the east of the country.
The displaced persons who returned to their homes thus vacated
Split hotels where they had been accommodated for eight years,
leaving them in bad repair.
