Central European Initiative (CEI) member-countries started in
Gorizia on Thursday.
The symposium is being attended by professors from several central
European universities and representatives of CEI countries'
foreign ministries. Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader
is expected to attend Friday's session.
The protection of minority rights in South Tirol and Alto Adige, and
in Romania and Hungary was discussed on the first day of the
symposium. Friday's session will tackle the Council of Europe's
