VUKOVAR, Nov. 4 (Hina) - The Joint Council of Municipalities (ZVO)
sent a letter on Wednesday to Croatian Premier Zlatko Matesa and to
international organisations operating in Croatia stressing the
difficult situation in the organisation.
The letter stressed that it had stopped broadcasting the Television
Dunav program, reported the Vukovar Press Centre.
An annex to the Erdut Agreement signed on October 8 of this year
envisaged that the government budget set aside 500,000 kuna from
funds allocated for national minorities by the end of the year.
However, they stressed, despite several meetings with Finance
Minister Borislav Skegro, no results have been achieved concerning
the promised resources.
ZVO further states the annex to the Erdut Agreement guaranteed the
direct media financing of the Serb minority media in the Croatian
Danube River Region, namely the Television Dunav and Radio Dunav,
along with the weekly "Novosti".
The publishing of the first edition of the Novosti project
announced for November 15 is now questionable.
