ZAGREB, Nov 25 (Hina) - Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) MPs on
Wednesday proposed the establishment of an investigating
parliamentary commission which should examine the circumstances
surrounding the creation of a 1994 programme known by the name of
"Lisica" (Fox), and to ascertain its authors and their motives.
The HSLS MPs claimed they wished to stop four-year manipulations by
clearing all facts on the plan.
According to their proposal, the investigating commission should
determine whether "Lisica" was a plan for the destruction of the
HSLS, or a plan to cause a parliamentary and political crisis in the
country, as the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) claims.
The HDZ claims the idea of the plan came from the HSLS with the
intention to provoke a parliamentary crisis, adding the same
scenario could be seen in last week's resignations by six
opposition parties on their duties in parliament.
The HSLS however claims the plan was aimed at the destabilisation of
the HSLS and at the replacement of its president Drazen Budisa, and
that it was created by people who were members of the HSLS in 1994
and are presently members of the HDZ or some other party.
The House of Representatives will decide on the HSLS's proposal,
which was endorsed by other parties from the opposition six, at the
36th session of the Lower House next week.
