STRASBOURG, Nov 4 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic in
Strasbourg, on Wednesday reported to the Council of Europe's
Committee of Ministers regarding the coming Donors' Conference in
Croatia as well as the forthcoming signing of two agreements
between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Minister Granic attended the 103rd session of the Ministerial
Committee where one of the major topics was the situation in south
east Europe, particularly Kosovo and Yugoslavia.
"I took the opportunity to inform the Ministerial Committee of the
forthcoming Conference on Reconstruction and Development (in
Croatia) scheduled for December 4 & 5 in Zagreb", said Granic to
journalists at the close of the ministerial council.
Granic said that he informed the council of the forthcoming signing
of agreements regarding special relations between Croatia and the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the agreement on the use of
the Ploce port and passage through Neum.
This second agreement will enable Bosnia-Herzegovina to use the
Croatian port at Ploce while Bosnia will enable Croatia free
passage through Neum, on the Adriatic coast which is part of Bosnian
territory and which separates the Dubrovnik region from the rest of
Croatia.
Minister Granic emphasised that Croatia strongly supported any
initiatives by the international community including the Council
of Europe, which will lead to peace and stability in the region
which primarily means the implementation of peace agreements in
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
During his visit to Strasbourg Croatia's chief diplomat met with
his Ukrainian counterpart, Boris Parasjuk who advised Minister
Granic of the intention of a high ranking delegation to participate
in the Central European Initiative's conference to be held in
Zagreb at the end of the month.
