WESTENDORP DECIDES ON ALLOCATION OF ARMY CERTIFICATES IN

SARAJEVO, Nov 21 (Hina) - High International Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Carlos Westendorp, on Saturday reached an arbitration decision on the way of distributing certificates for the purchase of company shares during the privatisation process to former soldiers of the Bosnia-Herzegovina army and the Croatian Defence Council (HVO), to which they are entitled due to unpaid army salaries. Westendorp decided Saturday that the amount of DM seven billion be distributed between the BH Army and the HVO in a ratio 76:24, his Office said on Saturday. According to an earlier decision by the Croat-Bosniak (Moslem) Bosnian Federation government, the two sides had to agree on ways of distributing army certificates by November 19, taking into consideration the importance of privatisation certificates. Croat member of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ante Jelavic, informed Westendorp that he suggests a distribution by ratio of 72:28, while the Bosniak party requested that the ratio be 80:20.
