legal measures to boost foreign investments. + Dominique Menu, vice president of the Zagreb office of the Dresdner +Bank Croatia (BNP) and Noel Page, auditor of the Zagreb auditing +service "Arthur Andersen" spoke about elements one should take into +consideration when making a decision on whether to invest in a +country or open a branch office there. + Franko Sader, an official of a consultancy for foreign investments, +spoke about the role of private investors, investments in +infrastructure and presentation of foreign infrastructure +projects. the first economic forum Central European Initiative (CEI) member-
countries, discussed legal measures to boost foreign investments.
Dominique Menu, vice president of the Zagreb office of the Dresdner
Bank Croatia (BNP) and Noel Page, auditor of the Zagreb auditing
service "Arthur Andersen" spoke about elements one should take into
consideration when making a decision on whether to invest in a
country or open a branch office there.
Franko Sader, an official of a consultancy for foreign investments,
spoke about the role of private investors, investments in
infrastructure and presentation of foreign infrastructure
projects. Lindsey Forbes, an official of the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), spoke about the role of
international associations and institutions and inter-state
agencies for the promotion of projects and attraction of foreign
investments.
The meeting closed with a discussion on what has been done and what
should be done for the promotion of direct investments. The
participants also talked about potentials for cooperation and co-
ordination of activities between different member countries of the
Central European Initiative.
Present at the round table were representatives of Government
bodies from 16 member countries of the CEI, including agencies for
investment promotion, ministries involved in promotion of foreign
investment, multilateral and bilateral agencies, financial
institutions, many investors from private and public companies,
etc.
