about war crimes, as well as insight into proceedings against war
criminals in the United States.
The American side did not offer nor point to any new documentation
regarding the Dinko Sakic case, and the Croatian representatives
found no relevant material which would directly or indirectly refer
to the case, the Croatian County Court said on Friday.
Dinko Sakic was the former commander of the Jasenovac concentration
camp during the Independent State of Croatian (941-1945), and is
currently undergoing investigative proceedings before the Zagreb
County Court.
The American side was told that Croatian judicial bodies were
prepared to use any opportunity to obtain relevant sources for
ascertaining the certain and complete truth about the existence of
criminal acts and criminal responsibility of persons suspected of
having committed a war crime.
The Croatian delegation included judges of the Zagreb County Court,
Zdenko Konjic and Zeljko Pajalic, and Zagreb County Deputy State
Attorney, Janjko Grlic.
They were invited to the United States by the US Government, The
Justice Department's special investigations unit, the Museum of
the Holocaust and the "Hunton & Williams" law firm, the Zagreb
County Court said.
