REPUBLIKA SRPSKA DISTURBS WORK OF HOUSE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

SARAJEVO, Nov 12 (Hina) - Authorities of Republika Srpska are violating the Dayton Agreement by disturbing the House for Human Rights, the Coordination Centre for Human Rights with the Office of High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovia (BH)stressed on Thursday. The government of Republika Srpska did not send its delegate to a hearing, which started on Monday morning in Banja Luka, before the House for Human Rights. The hearing has already been postponed o two occasions due to political pressure. On the request of Islam community in BH, the House for Human Rights started a court procedure against the Republika Srpska. The authorities of the Serb entity are accused of demolishing all mosques during the war in Banja Luka, as well as of obstructing Islam community's request for their re-construction. Until this week, the House for Human Rights has not been able to start proceedings concerning this matter. Their judges were not allowed to enter any territory owned by Banja Luka municipality. The Coordinating Centre for Human Rights harshly condemned such acts, and reminded the Serb entity authorities that their obligation was to provide all necessary information and fully cooperate with the House.
