CROATIAN GOVT WELCOMES ISRAELI-PALESTINIAN TRUCE

ZAGREB, Oct 26 (Hina) - The Croatian Government on Monday expressed +satisfaction with and welcomed the truce reached between Israel and +Palestine during the Near East summit held in the United States.+ "The signing of this truce is a new and significant step towards a +final solution to one of the most difficult crises in the world +after World War II and it offers hope for the strengthening of the +process to realise stability, peace and security in that part of the +world", the Croatian Government's communications office said in a +statement.+ Croatia believes that peace negotiations between conflicting sides +are always the best way to resolve mutual conflicts and regional +crises.+ At the same time the Croatian Government welcomes efforts by the +United States, and President Clinton personally, towards achieving +the latest peace agreement, the statement said.+(hina) sp jn/rml+
