PRISTINA, Oct 18 (Hina) - In the last 24 hours, Serbian sources
reported at least five serious incidents in Kosovo, in which three
Serbian police officers and an Albanian were killed and another
four Serbian police officers were wounded.
At 9.30pm last night, a group of armed Albanians attacked Serbian
police officers near the village of Orlate, on the Pristina-
Malisevo road, killing three police officers and wounding another
two, the pro-government Media Centre said on Sunday.
Armed Albanians last night carried out another attack on a police
vehicle in the village of Magure, 15km south-east of Pristina.
Two policemen were severely wounded in the attack, the same source
said.
An hour later, armed Albanians attacked a police checkpoint in
Komoran, on the Pristina-Pec road, using machine-guns and snipers.
There were no victims among the police forces.
The Media Centre also reported that the police station in Klecka,
40km south-east of Pristina, last night came under machine-gun
fire. There were no victims.
New clashes have been reported between the Serbian police and armed
Albanians in the village of Kreljane near Djakovica. The armed
Albanians opened fire on the police on three occasions. There were
no victims among the police force but one Albanian was killed in the
shooting, the Media Centre said.
Albanian and independent sources have not confirmed these
reports.
