SERBIAN & ALBANIAN SOURCES REPORT NEW INCIDENTS

( Editorial: --> 9203 ) PRISTINA, Oct 17 (Hina) - Albanian and Serbian sources on Saturday reported several armed incidents which occurred in Kosovo last night. Fire from firearms could be heard last night in Pristina and Podujevo, the Kosovo Information Centre reported adding that one Albanian was wounded and several Albanian houses were damaged in these incidents. New police forces have arrived in Podujevo while roads leading to the town have been blocked, the same source reported. The pro-government Media Centre in Pristina reported that a group of armed Albanians attacked a police station in a Pristina suburb and launched another three coordinated attacks in Podujevo around 11pm last night. Several hand grenades were thrown at the police station in the town centre and machinegun fire was opened at a police checkpoint outside Podujevo. An armed group of Albanians last night attacked a police checkpoint in Komoran on the Pristina-Pec road. Three armed Albanians dressed in Kosovo Liberation Army uniforms severely wounded a Serb police officer in Mirena near Lipljane. The Media Centre also reported that a security member in a Kosovo Power Supply coal mine near Pristina was wounded. Between 6 and 7pm last night, armed Albanians launched a strong attack on a police checkpoint near the village of Blagobilje between Malisevo and Orahovac, using mortars, rocket launchers and machineguns. Several attacks were launched on Serbian police forces in the village of Kraljane near Djakovica. Another attack was launched by Albanian forces on police near the village of Dulje on the Pristina- Pec road, but there were no victims among the police, the Media Centre said.
