NATO SOURCES

BRUSSELS, Oct 16 (Hina) - NATO's diplomatic sources in Brussels
said on Friday Croatia's prospects for starting negotiations on
entering Partnership for Peace in the near future were poor.
The diplomats, who wanted to remain anonymous, held talks with a
group of Croatian reporters visiting the Belgian capital on the
invitation of the European Commission.
The diplomats believe that the appointment of General Pavao
Miljevac as Croatian Defence Minister is not in line with the basic
condition for entering the Partnership for Peace programme, which
is civil military control.
