ZAGREB, Oct 14 (Hina) - A Wstenrot housing savings bank was opened
in Zagreb on Wednesday.
The bank is a sister-company of Bank Austria Creditanstalt Croatia,
which is a sister-company of Bank Austria Creditanstalt
International AG from Vienna.
Wstenrot housing savings bank was founded with the initial funds of
about US$8 million. The Croatian National Bank (HNB) Advisory Board
approved its establishment and opening at the end of August this
year.
The bank is a pioneer of housing saving in Croatia. Involved in the
project of its establishment are housing savings banks Wstenrot
from Austria and Germany.
By imparting their knowledge and skills in housing saving,
confirmed in transition countries like Poland, Hungary, the Czech
Republic and Slovakia, the banks will support the work of the new
housing savings bank, the president of the bank's administration
Anton Jandric said.
