ZAGREB, Oct 4 (Hina) - During his second visit to Croatia Pope John
Paul II granted a special audience to Apostolic Nunciature
architects and donors early Sunday morning before his departure for
Split.
The Pope requested the audience to express his gratitude for the
donations which helped completing the restoration of the
Nunciature in Zagreb.
The nuns, medical crews and personal security workers were also
received by the Pope.
Apostolic Nuncio Monsignor Giulio Einaudi greeted the Pope on the
behalf of the architects and donors.
The dean of the Prebendery Corps and head of a nunciature
construction board chairman Juraj Kolaric greeting the Pope
expressed his gratitude by presenting him with a painting of martyr
Alojzije Stepinac, made by Rudi Labas.
The Pope was presented with a book by Jurij Kocijanic, "The Pope and
Croatian people", which describes the history of relations between
the Holy See and Croatia during 14 centuries of Croatian Christian
history.
