ONE BOSNIAN KILLED & THREE WOUNDED IN TASOVCICI

( Editorial: --> 5362 ) SARAJEVO/MOSTAR, Oct 3 (Hina) - One person was killed and three more were injured on Friday night in the village of Tasovcici near Capljina (southern Bosnia-Herzegovina) after unidentified persons threw three hand-grenades on the houses where Muslim refugees had recently returned, SFOR spokesman in Sarajevo Glenn Chamberlain told Hina on Saturday. The perpetrators, who are still at large, had thrown the bombs from speeding cars bearing unidentified registration plates, Chamberlain said. Local police are investigating the case, and members of SFOR's special unit for incident prevention are still in the Capljina region, although the situation was somewhat more peaceful on Saturday, Chamberlain said. According to the information available to the SFOR command in Sarajevo, two of the three wounded persons were seriously injured, while one sustained minor injuries. Sources in Mostar hospital confirmed that the explosion had killed a Muslim returnee Adem Muminagic and injured Salko Nurko, Nazif Omerovic and Sakir Kudra. Two of the injured were hospitalised in western part of Mostar and one was taken to the hospital in eastern Mostar. The international community strongly condemns these acts of violence against refugees who were taking part in an organised and announced return process, Office of the High Representative (OHR) spokesman for Southern Bosnia-Herzegovina Chris Riley said. We want to make it clear that the local police and authorities are responsible for the safety of all the people in Capljina and Tasovcici, Riley said. An investigation is under way, and the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton government will convene to discuss the latest events. (Hina) is/rml 031732 MET oct 98
