MOSTAR, Sept 26 (Hina) - A large group of Serb refugees on Saturday
attempted to return to Mostar's neighbourhood of Rastane in
Municipality West (with a Croat majority), without consulting the
legal authorities of the Municipality West, the municipality's
information service said on Saturday.
"Although there exists a legitimate group of citizens of Serb
nationality who are cooperating with the municipal head and
president of the Municipality West Council, they were not consulted
about this return," the Information Service said.
The manner in which these returns are organised is a direct
violation of the Agreement on the Return of Refugees to Mostar
signed this April. The Agreement has been respected only by the
Croat side, the statement said.
The Service called on Croats protesting and blocking the road
leading to Rastane to be dignified and not to be provoked.
"We call on the international and domestic community to stop all
those who are trying to set disorder in the process of return of
refugees to all six Mostar's municipalities through violations of
the Dayton and other agreements," the statement said.
