STRASBOURG, Sept 24 (Hina) - A member of the Croatian delegation to
the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly, Snjezana Biga-
Friganovic, supports the idea of a transitional solution for Kosovo
in an effort to stop the violence and for political negotiations to
begin.
"At the moment, it is hard to imagine a new political status for
Kosovo", said Biga-Friganovic while addressing the Assembly.
She concluded that now the only thing to do is "to find a
transitional solution to stop the further suffering of
civilians".
In a discussion that followed regarding the situation in Kosovo,
the Croatian delegate highlighted that the Kosovo conflict is a
repetition of the aggression against Croatia and Bosnia.
"Vukovar, Sarajevo and Srebrenica are being repeated", added Biga-
Friganovic.
She said that Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic was
responsible for the atrocities committed on the territory of the
former Yugoslavia.
More than 500 politicians and intellectuals have signed a petition
demanding that Milosevic be extradited to the International
Criminal Tribunal for Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in the Hague, she
said.
