ZAGREB, Sept 9 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Vice President Jadranka
Kosor on Wednesday opened a two-day seminar of the International
Olympic Committee (IOC), titled "Women in Sport".
The seminar, which is being held at Zagreb's hotel "Sheraton", has
gathered about 50 representatives from 37 European Olympic
committees.
Welcoming the participants, Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO)
president and IOC member Antun Vrdoljak said that the HHO was
following efforts by the international Olympic movement whose
objective is to increase the participation of women in sport.
In this light, the HHO has formed a committee concerned with the
welfare of women with the aim of including as many women as possible
in competitive sports and finding ways for female athletes to
remain in sport after they have finished their careers.
The participants were also welcomed by Education and Sport Minister
